Out of this world debt.

I just found out that the U.S. dollar is ~6″ in length. I decided to do some math based on that and see how long the U.S. debt is. Looking at the U.S. debt clock I saw that we were approximately $17,581,731,500,000 in debt at the time. So I multiplied the debt times six inches and got 105,490,390,000,000 inches. This equates to about 1,664,936,711 miles. To put that in another perspective, the distance from earth to mars fluctuates between 36 and 62 million miles and the distance from earth to Saturn is about 746 million miles at it’s closest. So our debt can reach to Saturn and back at our shortest distance if the dollar is lined from end to end all the way.
